You are a rune carver in an antique shop filled with inanimate objects. You can carve runes into the objects, giving them life. Different runes will change the behavior of the objects.

A 3D sandbox game I worked in my third year at Sheridan College. The game was realized during a 5 days design week where we randomly formed a group and designed a game based on the challenge.

And the challenge for the week was Design a new and unique gameplay experience that centers around one underexplored action or verb by creating a playground.

I was mainly responsible for creating some of the 2D and 3D assets, also for the final game environment building.

During the design process, our team thought of creating an experience in which the player to give life to the objects, and the objects will move around on their own. With the verb ANIMATE as the action we wanted to explore.

At first, we thought about clicking on objects to give them life, but we realized that it wasn't very interactive in this way, to fix this, we let the player to carve runes on the objects to give them life. We also realized that giving life to an object was more of a result of different action rather the action itself, and thus, we settled on changing the verb to RUNECARVING.
